transcript stuck on pending

Symptom: the recording exists, but the transcript view keeps saying "hang tight — transcript not yet available" or "working on it", far longer than the recording deserves.

Transcription is real work for your machine. A one-hour meeting on a modest laptop legitimately takes several minutes. The pipeline dot shows progress — stuck means no movement while the queue is otherwise quiet.

1. The model is still downloading. A fresh install transcribes nothing until the brain arrives. Home says "your brain is still arriving" and the brain badge shows "{n}/{n} ready" with a time estimate. Wait, or see model download stuck if the download itself is the problem.
2. The accurate model is missing. The message "model needed — the high-accuracy model isn't installed yet" comes with an Install high-accuracy model button. Click it.
3. Other recordings are ahead in the queue. Recordings are transcribed one after another. Importing a folder of fifty files puts forty-nine of them in line.
4. A stage stalled. A part with the badge "Needs a retry" did not finish in the expected time. Click Retry.
5. Restart yapyap. A restart resumes the pipeline where it left off — it never loses the recording. If the same recording stalls again after a restart, see troubleshooting local AI.

"quiet one — no speech detected"

Not stuck: finished, and found nothing to write down. If there was definitely speech, the audio is probably silent — see no sound recorded.
