the marketplace
Discover lenses others made, read them like liner notes, and decide who you trust.
Add from marketplace opens Discover: popular and recently-updated lenses from the official yapyap registry, searchable, with a "Verified by yapyap" badge on the ones we maintain.
Each listing opens like a record sleeve — the schema as a tracklist, screenshots of the rendered view, credits (license, what it chains to, what it needs), and the full prompt, read-only, before you install. You see exactly what instruction will run against your transcripts. Installing takes one click; the lens lands in your library, editable like any other.
other people's registries
The marketplace is not a walled garden. Add registry subscribes to any yapyap-shaped registry — a friend's GitHub repo, a company-internal collection:
- paste the registry URL (e.g.
https://github.com/alice/lenses), - give it a display name,
- pass the trust gate — an explicit "Trust this registry?" moment with terms you accept knowingly.
Trust is per registry, bound to its source URL. A registry can only ever serve you prompts and schemas — never code. Still: a lens's prompt runs against your transcripts on your machine, and if you route a lens to a bring-your-own cloud key, that lens's prompt plus transcript excerpts go to that provider. Read prompts of third-party lenses the way you'd read a recipe before cooking it.
