speakers & voiceprints
yapyap separates voices automatically; you name them once, and the directory does the rest forever.
Every recording is split into voices automatically. The speakers screen is the directory of everyone yapyap has heard, as person cards in three states:
- unnamed — a new voice, waiting for you: play a sample, then either name this voice or mark anonymous. During a live recording an "Unrecognised voice" prompt offers the same.
- named — a person. Shows their voiceprint strength; from here you can rename, merge duplicates ("every turn attributed to 'Ali' moves to the profile you pick"), or forget them entirely.
- anonymous — one muted bucket for voices you've decided not to track by name. Restorable any time.
The payoff: name a colleague once and every future recording labels them automatically. As the footer on the screen says — the voiceprint grows as someone speaks in more recordings.
Anonymous doesn't mean discarded: each anonymous voice keeps its own voiceprint so "Anonymous" in Tuesday's meeting is still recognised as the same anonymous voice on Friday — just unnamed, because you chose that.
you
You are a speaker like any other — yapyap doesn't ask you to read sentences into a microphone before it will work. Name the voice that's yours, then hit this is me on the card. From then on your turns are labelled as you, and the voiceprint keeps growing every time you speak. (Changed your mind, or tagged the wrong card? The same button reads this isn't me.)
