recording system audio
Capture the far end of a call — everything your computer plays — alongside your mic.
Recording a Zoom, Teams or Meet call with just the microphone gets you one side of the conversation. Flip "Also record system audio" on the recording screen and yapyap also captures what your computer plays — the other participants — into the same recording.
Everything downstream understands the two sides: transcription covers both, and speaker recognition knows which voices came from your room and which came through the speakers.
availability
System audio capture depends on your operating system. yapyap checks whether your machine can do it and disables the toggle (with a reason) where it can't — if you see "System audio capture is unavailable", your OS or version doesn't support it.
- macOS — needs macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later. The first capture triggers the "System Audio Recording Only" permission prompt, the same category screen recorders use.
- Windows — works out of the box.
- Linux — works on most desktop systems.
Recording other people is subject to local law and common courtesy — tell your call that yapyap is listening.
